These applications then automatically start when a user logs on to the system locally. For example, if you want to configure startup applications for all users, you can add shortcuts to the %SystemDrive%\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Startup folder. In the Windows operating system, items on the desktop and startup applications are configured with shortcuts, and it is the location of the shortcut that determines how the shortcut is used. You can change the default shortcut update behavior in Horizon Client. If a Horizon administrator modifies remote desktop and published application shortcuts on the server, by default the shortcuts are updated on the client system the next time you connect to that server. If you are not already logged in to the server when you click a server-created shortcut, Horizon Client prompts you to log in before the remote desktop or published application opens. You can use the vmware-view command with the -installShortcutsThenQuit option to create a script that runs when the client system starts up and installs shortcuts automatically.
